Michael is the founder and creative director of HK Farm. He also runs HK Honey and co-founded a community-focused art and design platform called Shanghai Street Studios in Yau Ma Tei.
Michael's interest in agriculture started when he was living in London. Visiting food markets on the weekends and cooking Sunday roasts, he slowly developed his interest in food ethics and food origin.
In the Summer of 2011, Michael moved to New York for three months to work at the world's largest rooftop farm, Brooklyn Grange. His experience in New York inspired him to do urban agriculture in a community-based way in Hong Kong's concrete landscape.
Matthew Edmondson was born and raised on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, England. Inspired by the stories from the agricultural and industrial heritage of his surroundings he has followed a career in documenting and preserving heritage and memory, which eventually brought him to Hong Kong.
Matthew continues to work as a professional archivist and as an advocate for the preservation of Hong Kong's own heritage, and has also been inspired by the community and surroundings of Hong Kong, and its urban agricultural movement. Matthew is now learning to grow vegetables at HK Farm.
|GLENN EUGEN ELLINGSEN
Glenn is the Art Director of HK Farm. Glenn spent his youth in the countryside on the outskirts of Bergen in Norway. Glenn draws inspiration from his creative family and has been pursuing fine art and documentary photography for the past 5 years. He is now based in Hong Kong, working on personal projects and exploring works in various multimedia.
Growing up in Norway made it natural for Glenn to grow the food he eats. He now aims to practice this food ethic in Hong Kong.

Anthony has a green thumb. We first met him at the HK Honey Urban Beekeeping Workshop in March 2012 and he immediately wanted to get involved.
Since then he has been consistently helping out on the rooftop. He would say that his job is just to lift heavy things but he’s definitely been doing more than that.
Armed with a management consulting background and an appreciation for creative details, Anthony is now involved in all our projects - on a farming, creative and business level (he’s very fluent in Excel!).
Anthony, welcome to the team.
